Think – Day 24 – You get to choose the meaning of your circumstances…choose wisely.

Did you change your world yesterday by changing your thoughts?

Good! Keep doing it. You are the master of your fate.

Here’s what one member said of yesterday’s message:

“Oh my, that was powerful for me today. I watch the news endlessly. I feel like I need to watch it every morning and every night just before I go to sleep. Hmmmmm, and I’m depressed!  It is such a routine, I will have to find another routine.”

There is definitely a connection there. And I understand how addicting the news can be…there’s a reason why advertisers pay such huge money to promote the news…

…Because it’s addictive and it attracts eyeballs!

And sure…sometimes there are positive things on the news…but mostly it’s a bunch of mental junk food that feeds negative thoughts.

And the member who commented was exactly right…a new routine is imperative.

Trying to stop doing a habitual pattern without replacing it with something new is next to impossible.

But there are TONS of great replacements: Uplifting books on positive topics, Audiobooks, even subscribing to uplifting YouTube Channels…just to name a few.

All of these are MUCH better mental food for you than the habit of watching the news morning and night.

Remember…you are the only one who can direct your thoughts and your life…be CONSCIOUS and AWAKE as you choose what influences you let into your mind…

…Your life is on the line…literally.

You are creating your life experience by all of your thoughts.

Your environment is so important…do whatever must be done to flood your thoughts with the uplifting.

BUT…for those that are in challenged circumstances around negative influences that can’t just be turned off…know this:

“Conditions are created by thoughts far more powerfully than conditions create thoughts – Norman Vincent Peale

Even in hostile environments full of negativity, YOU have the ability with your powerful mind, to choose positivity, love and kindness.

Of course it will be harder in those moments!

But you are always the master of your fate and you always have the freedom to choose your attitude.

Viktor Frankl is one of the ultimate examples proving this to us.

Suffering years of tortured imprisonment on the brink of death many days in German concentration camps…he was in the ultimate environment of negativity.

And yet he found joy, meaning, and purpose.

And he turned that experience into light and life and inspiration for millions of us who have benefited from his attitude and teachings.

He said this: “When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.”

“When we cannot remove negativity from our environment, our opportunity and challenge becomes to find the meaning in it.”

What is to give light must endure burning.”  – Viktor Frankl

Those times when we are incapable of changing our negative circumstances can quite literally become the greatest blessings in our life when we approach it with Frankl’s attitude.

That exact thing happened dramatically for me.

My ability to believe that everything is conspiring for my benefit, especially when confronting a near-deadly, torturous pain-inducing disease, was largely influenced by Viktor Frankl’s example.

And that extremely negative circumstance led me to much greater depths of joy in my life, as well as a bestselling book, and this very work you are now reading.

And those are now positively influencing hundreds of thousands of people across the world.

In my book I wrote: “Regardless of your circumstances you can create the life you want. You do this principally by how you choose to focus your thoughts and attention.” – Aaron Kennard

I chose to focus on believing that the disease was an essential catalyst that would enable me to serve millions of people…and that choice made all the difference in the outcome.

You also get to choose…in every circumstance you face.

What meaning will you find in your challenges?

I share this because I know many of you are facing challenging relationships or health situations that may be completely out of your control to change.

But you are always free to choose your thoughts.

“Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.

“Between stimulus and response, there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.”

“Life is never made unbearable by circumstances, but only by lack of meaning and purpose.” – Viktor Frankl

So feed your powerful mind a rich and plentiful diet of positive thought daily!

Improve your environment however you can…like shutting off the news and replacing it with positive words.

And where you cannot improve your environment, REMEMBER…that circumstance is absolutely here to give you a greater gift than you can fathom.

Believe that. Look for it.

Keep meditating. Stay awake to life.

Make today amazing!
