Think – Day 23 – “The best way to make your dreams come true is to wake up.”
Are you awake?
According to the late French poet and philosopher Paul Valery, that’s the best way to make your dreams come true.
It’s so easy to just sleep right on through our life…always dreaming and never realizing our dreams.
But when we consciously choose to wake up and be fully present and alive right now, then our dreams of joy, fulfillment, connection, and love can also come true right now…
Not to mention all our other dreams.
A Truly Amazing Life is being awake!
When we live fully awake and aware, we are connected to our source, we are living in joy, and we see clearly the path to our dreams.
It’s kind of hard to make our dreams come true when we are sleep-walking through life…
…and yet all too often, due to habit and the ever-pervasive comfort zone, we can slip into a sleepy glide through our day…just putting ourselves on auto-pilot.
Not to worry though! The minute you are aware of that, you are awake.
The trick is to stay that way.
But each day we meditate we improve at staying awake to life.
Those seven reminders to ‘just pause’ that we spoke of a few days ago are an excellent way to wake yourself up throughout the day.
Now, a question is, when we are awake, how do we consciously make our dreams come true?
Just how important are the thoughts we think?

It’s easy to forget that our thoughts are things and that we truly can’t hold any secrets…because our thoughts all manifest themselves in our lives at some point.
“Men imagine that thought can be kept secret, but it cannot; it rapidly crystallizes into habit, and habit solidifies into circumstance.” – James Allen, As a man thinketh
If we habitually put into our minds negative thoughts, it is inevitable that they will become negative circumstances in our life at some point.
That’s why I always wonder why anyone would want to purposely subject themselves to watching the ‘bad news’ of the world habitually every single day?
It doesn’t make any sense when we truly understand the power of thought, because feeding ourselves negativity is a recipe for unhappiness.
But the same principle works to the positive also of course…James Allen also said:
“A noble and Godlike character is not a thing of favor or chance, but is the natural result of continued effort in right thinking, the effect of long-cherished association with Godlike thoughts.” – James Allen
So what kind of thoughts are you cherishing and filling your environment with daily?
Are you filling your mind with thoughts that fill you with joy and serve to create the life you want?
We’ve focused a lot this month on learning to simply let go of thought….
But another powerful principle is to consciously flood your mind with empowering thoughts.
“You must feed your mind even as you feed your body, and to make your mind healthy you must feed it nourishing, wholesome thoughts” – Norman Vincent Peale
So where do you get those nourishing thoughts to feed it?
The simplest way for most is through reading empowering books daily.
We’ll work on that habit together in the pillar of GROW – it’s truly an essential habit.
But these daily 5MMM messages are built to provide this daily thought nourishment for you as well.
Regardless of the source, flooding your mind with empowering truth from written or spoken word daily is one of the best ways to feed your mind wholesome thoughts.
And that DAILY is a CRUCIAL word.
You never say, “Oh I’m not hungry…I already at this week, thanks!”, do you? No, your body needs food daily.
Same with your mind and spirit.
So many minds and spirits are starving and suffering because people neglect to understand this vital truth.
Now, another way to feed your mind is to write.
You can literally draw out positive, life-filled words directly from your own soul, from the universal source of all intelligence within you.
This can be more difficult for some in the beginning…and it shouldn’t ever replace reading.
But there is an endless garden of truth within you…start writing and you’ll see. I am brought to tears of joy most every day at the truth that pours out of a gel pen in front of me.
So today, keep breathing. Keep meditating.
But also make sure you are feeding your mind a nourishing diet of thoughts…and avoiding the ‘junk food’ of negativity that springs up like weeds all around us.
