Smile – Day 24 – There are miracles happening all around you right now
Thank you for being here!
Thank you for your heart, and your loving soul.
Every person in the TAL Family inspires me and together, as a collective world-wide family of life lovers, passionate about making today amazing, each of our individual thoughts and acts of gentleness, kindness, appreciation, and love are making this world a better place.
So thank you for being an integral part of goodness and love expanding in our world.
I’m honored to be a part of that with you.
Now today I want to talk about the miracles abounding all around us on this planet.
“People usually consider walking on water or in thin air to be a miracle.”
“But I think the real miracle is not to walk either on water or in thin air, but to walk on earth.”
“Every day we are engaged in a miracle which we don’t even recognize: a blue sky, white clouds, green leaves, the black, curious eyes of a child — our own two eyes. All is a miracle.” – Thich Nhat Hanh
Have you thought about that lately in your appreciation?
Have you considered how miraculous all things really are?
You can touch a soft blanket and feel pleasure.
You can open your eyes and witness beauty all around you, read a book, see your family.
If you can’t see with your eyes, you can likely see even more clearly with your heart.
Your ears, your hands, your feet, your toes, your heart and all your other organs…all performing amazing functions for you miraculously.
If you were to stop and truly consider all the amazing miracles happening just in your body right now in this moment you could easily be overwhelmed with gratitude, awe, and amazement.
And that’s just in your body.
Then what about all around you?
Albert Einstein was known to have said this:
“There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.” – Albert Einstein
And when we live recognizing that everything is a miracle, we cannot help feeling grateful for it all.
Then we abide in that amazing state of gratitude.
I’m not quite sure it’s as black and white as just two ways to live, as Albert Einstein suggested…but maybe it is.
I know personally I slip back and forth between being overwhelmed with gratitude and overwhelmed with stress at some points.
Certainly when stress is overwhelming, I’m not living as if everything is a miracle.
Even if I do believe that in my mind, I’m not living it truly.
Because if I were truly living as if everything is a miracle, then I would be living in a state of gratitude, which is peace.
Overwhelmed with stress tends to happen only when we are holding on tightly to our own expectations and not surrendering to the will of our creator.
When we shift into gratitude for all things, we have let go of our death grip on our expectations of our self and our circumstances.
We have “let go, and let God.”
But it must start within our heart.
We start small, and that is the beauty of what Thich and Albert are telling us.
When we remind ourselves to be aware of the multitude of miracles around us, we express appreciation for them.
This shifts us to feeling deep gratitude.
And from gratitude, love, peace, acceptance and surrender are all natural byproducts.
Then stress and overwhelm dissipate.
We have the internal space to write our priorities and focus on the most important one…
…and we are free.
Get freedom and peace today through appreciating the multitude of miracles in your life right now.
Be aware of these things throughout the day, then write about the miracles you were aware of before going to sleep.
Make Today Amazing!
