Smile – Day 13 – How to overcome 3 common blocks to joyful living
We’re wrapping up week 2 of the SMILE pillar and the establishment of the APPRECIATE habit.
I hope you’re finding the motivation and willpower to keep the small commitments of this habit each day.
I know how challenging it can be some days to do the things we know are best for us…so be kind to yourself if that’s where you are.
I give you permission to let the past go, and just start again today!
You are amazing, don’t let yourself believe otherwise. We all falter sometimes. You are not alone.
Now today I will introduce you to some of Esther and Jerry Hicks amazing works.
They have written much that is of immense value for us, and so we will spend some time in the coming days with them.
And first we’ll start with this:

Those are the 3 MAJOR BLOCKS to joyful living and receiving what you are asking for and desiring in your life.
When you live in a state of 1 – impatience, 2 – doubt, or 3 – unworthiness … you feel bad.
Often you feel HORRIBLE.
When you feel bad, you are living in a state of resistance.
Contrast that to how you feel when you live in a state of AWED GRATITUDE for all that you have….
…full of faith and belief…
…eager and optimistic…
…while completely patient because you are grateful for the very place you are on the journey right now.
How does it feel to live in that state?
IT FEELS FANTASTIC!
I’m sure you’ve felt it at some point.
Maybe you have to reach back all the way to your childhood?
Maybe you feel that state of awed gratitude and eager optimism a lot! I hope so!
It’s a JOYFUL state.
It feels really, really good to be living in a state of gratitude, faith, and optimism.
And I’m sure you’ve noticed that you are quite capable of creating that state of living in your life.
It is your choice.
And you are creating the habit of living that way right now, this very instant with this program.
So stay diligent to the daily practice of gratitude, because there is so much at stake here.
Not only are you creating a truly amazing life today by getting yourself into a state of awed gratitude…
…But installing the habit of deep appreciation in your life opens the doors to you making all your dreams come true.
That’s why Jerry and Esther said that state of living is “The Science of Deliberate Creation at its best.”
Because living in a state of awed gratitude is how you deliberately create a truly amazing life.
It is perfectly striking the balance between contentment and desire.
You are immensely full of gratitude right now, and yet still eager for growth and full of wonderful desires.
But your desires don’t consume you and throw you into a state of despaired longing…because your gratitude somehow begets FAITH.
Your gratitude is the key and the catalyst.
I can’t say I understand perfectly how it works…but I know you’ll agree as you witness how you feel when you habitually abide in a state of deep gratitude each day.
You will notice your Faith, optimism, and belief in what is possible all skyrocket.
Your enthusiasm for life in general goes up.
All of this springs forth effortlessly when you tap into the deep well of gratitude within you.
So remember today, and take the small, simple actions to deepen this habit.
Think and picture in your mind those things and people you are grateful for and FEEL it deep inside.
SMILE throughout the day, as much as you can. Always be looking for a reason to smile and let those pearly whites shine!!
And express gratitude in word and deed to those around you.
Then WRITE down what you’re thankful for and take a few moments to end your day reveling in your abundant life.
Do this today and you will create an amazing day.
Keep doing this every day and this will become an automatic habit that will transform your life.
