Day 1 – Connect deeply with the real You – starting today.

It’s time to Remember Who You Are!

I’m so excited to work on this incredibly important pillar with you this month.

For the next four weeks, I will be inviting you to focus on the habit of reflecting in the mirror in order to Remember Who You Are.

Some may think, “How can I remember who I am if I have never known who I am?”

The You with a capital Y knows and has always known who you are.

Each day, whether it’s the first time or the 1000th time, when you become aware of who you are it will likely feel more like a remembering and a welcome home than a new discovery.

It is an important distinction that you are ‘remembering’ and not ‘discovering,’ because in truth this is not a new discovery. Who you are is well known to your True Self and it is simply up to you to remember what You already know.

The knowledge of who you are is inside you.

A daily process of remembering is essential. Just because you remember today, doesn’t mean you’re all set, and your work is done.

Tomorrow is a new day. When you wake up tomorrow, today will not exist anymore. You will be a new person, with new experiences, and new challenges.

Remembering who we are is an important daily practice for the rest of our lives in order live to our highest potential.

Life, peers, the Jones family’s many possessions and their seemingly perfect life, our ego, and all the other influences around us constantly pull us in so many different directions.

It is our job to maintain a remembrance of who we truly are constantly, in order to hold firm and steadfast in our resolve and purpose.

Living on purpose is essential to a Truly Amazing Life.

When we forget who we are and we forget our purpose, we drift.

When we drift, our thoughts and emotions lead us down undesirable paths of boredom, lethargy, pessimism, anxiety, and eventually despair.

However, when we know with crystal clarity, who we are, why we are here, and where we are going, our life is filled with energy and light.

We are deeply happy within ourselves.

We find meaning and joy in every outside circumstance, whether it is the painful trudging through harsh storms, or the peaceful walks on sandy beaches.

When we remember who we are, we know that we are enough.

We need nothing outside of our self.

We are at peace.

And we are powerfully humble and happy.

So with that, here is your small and simple task for the next four weeks in order to establish the daily habit to Remember Who You Are:

REFLECT

Each day, first thing in the morning, and sometime before bed, follow this simple 4-step process:

  1. Sit or stand directly in front of a mirror. (Get close, within a foot or two.)
  2. Breathe in and out deeply 3 times while looking in your eyes.
  3. As you look in your eyes say this 3 times: “(Say your name), I forgive you for every mistake of the past. I love you fully and completely. You are worthy. You are capable. You are amazing. (Feel free to add other truths about the real You).”
  4. Breathe in and out deeply 3 more times. (Still looking in your eyes.)

Do this process twice per day, every single day for the next four weeks.

If you miss a day, don’t worry; I’ll be here to remind you each day. Simply get back on track and do it the next day.

You don’t have to be perfect to establish a habit. Just do your best. The more consistent you are the better of course.

As you do this 4-step process morning and night for four weeks with sincerity, I promise you will notice a shift take place in your heart.

It’s very possible you will have monumental shifts and breakthroughs in happiness and peace like you’ve never experienced before.

If you have never done this practice before, it is likely to bring you into a relationship of love with yourself that you have never known. You are likely to feel like you made a major discovery of the real You.

In reality, it will be a remembrance. Because You know who You are, you just forget…sometimes for a long time. You have been there all along waiting patiently for you to slow down and notice.

For some, the shifts may be subtle. You may find that you become just a little more compassionate, a little happier, or a little more grounded.

But you will notice a shift.

So go forth! Start the habit of reflecting You back to yourself twice today!
