Day 9 – The simplest way to measure & improve your mental health.

You are amazing! Remember that.

It is one of the most important things to remember.

Have you told yourself that lately in the mirror? I highly recommend you do.

I’m proud of you and excited for you that you are sticking with me and taking this daily action in faith, believing it will work goodness in your life.

Keep it up.

Envision how quickly 30 days have passed in the blink of an eye and how you are now a new person because you diligently stuck with this small and simple daily action.

Now, here’s an important question for you…

How is your mental health?

Seriously…how mentally healthy are you?

Before you jump quick to an answer…consider this:

The measure of mental health is the disposition to find good everywhere.”Ralph Waldo Emerson

There is good to be found or created in literally everything.

In the medical and psychiatric industry there are elaborate tests to ‘measure’ one’s mental health.

But I’ve never heard anyone other than Ralph Waldo explain measuring mental health in such a simple way…

…And I agree with Ralph!!

I know he’s right, because in 2011, life became truly amazing for me as my disposition made a massive switch to seeing amazing goodness in everything.

My turning point happened in the realization of the beauty of a sore throat, which is most often seen as a nuisance at best, but which I realized I could turn into a trigger to remind me to express gratitude.

I suddenly saw the painful nuisance as a tremendous blessing…

…And according to Emerson, that is very good mental health.

How about you?

Is it automatic for you to see the good in every single thing?

If not, it soon will be as you stay diligent!

You absolutely can become an inherently positive thinker!

And there is massive power and joy in that way of being.

If it already is automatic for you to see the good in everything, keep doing those affirmations…

…It will become an even deeper part of you, and make life that much better still.

There is good in literally everything

…But what do you automatically look for and see?

One of the main questions I get when people are struggling to believe ‘everything is conspiring for my benefit,’ is along these lines:

“How would you find positivity in violent crimes and terrorism and such?”

This is a big discussion but the simple answer is explained by Maxwell Malts in another insightful section in his book Psycho-cybernetics.

“Much of what we call evil is due entirely to the way men take the phenomenon…”

“Since you make them evil or good by your own thoughts about them, it is the ruling of your thoughts which proves to be your principal concern.Maxwell Maltz, Psycho-cybernetics

The fact is you cannot control what others do and there will continue to be violence, crime, hatred, and ‘evil’ in the world.

But who decides how you react to it? Who controls what you think about it and what you DO about it?

Is there good to be found or created or done even when heinous and evil things have happened?

And the only truly rational thing a good person can do is to focus the attention on finding and making good in the situation…whatever it is.

To dwell on the negative is to give it power to consume and overrun life.

Your principal concern is the ruling of your thoughts!

Have you ever considered whether you might be making the facts evil or good by your own thoughts about them?

The stoic philosopher Epictetus said: “Men are disturbed not by things that happen, but by their opinion of the things that happen.

What we are working on together, is changing the way we automatically see the world and everything that happens. We are changing our habitual opinions.

And those changes are made by ‘small means, in many instances.’

So continue doing the small, simple affirmations today!

Here is another group of my personal daily affirmations for you to consider for ideas of your own…
