8 weeks ago my body was about 50 pounds underweight at 129 lbs.
All the muscles in my body were severely atrophied.
It was intensely taxing to walk a few feet down the hall in the hospital. I had to lay down sweating and panting from the exertion after.
At the beginning of December I began watching daily in awe as my muscles came back to life and my legs visibly grew each day.
I now weigh 161 pounds.
Today I ran/hiked 12 miles round trip with 2500 feet of vertical gain to the top of Green Mountain and back via bear canyon in Boulder.
It took just over 2 1/2 hours and I feel fine now. Legs are tired, but I still have plenty of energy.
I am amazed at how fast the body can heal and recover. It seems miraculous to me.
And I am super grateful to have my life back. Words cannot express it well.
I absolutely love life!
I am so grateful to be capable of starting 2013 conquering a summit alongside my best friend and wife Nan.
Welcome to 2013! It’s going to be the best year yet.
P.S. This Is A Truly Amazing Life.
