Succeed – Day 8 – The crazy-simple foolproof method for ‘finding your purpose’ fast.

How are you feeling as we start week two in our Priority Focus? Are you feeling more focused? Are you feeling more clarity?

Have you been sticking to the daily simple goal of writing down your priorities?

If you have done that each day, great!

If you have been successful at completing your priorities each day, awesome!!

And if you have been 100% perfect at writing your priorities in the morning, shutting out ALL distractions, and completing each one in order, then you are A SUPERSTAR! (And perhaps superhuman?) Amazing job!!!

If on the other hand you have been struggling to even come up with priorities, or finding it challenging to STAY FOCUSED amidst constant distractions – welcome to the club!

Do NOT beat yourself up for that!

I personally deal with that every single day.

For most of us mere mortals, living in this world of distraction and staying focused on our one most important thing is NO EASY TASK!

So don’t listen to the lies that say you are weird, or bad, or you ‘can’t do it’ when you feel like this is a really hard thing.

This is a lifelong process of growth and learning.

Be KIND to yourself. Start where you are and accept that.

You are beautiful, amazing, and capable – and that is a FACT.

Just focus on small, simple steps forward.

Maybe you just need to write down ONLY ONE small priority for each day, and master focusing on that one thing to start.

Then as you notice your ability to focus improve, only then give yourself 3, 4, or 5 priorities for the day.

But, it’s super important to DECIDE on your top priority, WRITE it down, and DO it.

Even just doing that ONCE each day will create the habit…which you can expand on.

Now today, let’s go back the BIG picture!

Are you clear on a worthy goal?

Choosing a clear worthy goal is the key to finally stop running on the mouse wheel in your life, wasting time and not getting anywhere.

Your ‘purpose in life’ is the same as your ‘worthy goal’.

When you are clear on a worthy goal – it allows all the rest of the puzzle pieces of life to make sense and become easier.

Living life without a clear worthy goal produces anxiety, stress, overwhelm, and a feeling of helplessness.

It’s no different than trying to complete a 5000 piece jigsaw puzzle when you have lost the box and have no clue what the picture you’re creating looks like.

When you are clear on a worthy goal you start feeling joy and enthusiasm because your clarity allows you to make progress on something meaningful.

It’s actually the act of choosing, and committing to a BIG NOBLE idea that fires your life up with passion.

So if you haven’t chosen a purpose yet – I encourage you to just do it today.

Notice how I’m speaking of CHOOSING a purpose and NOT DISCOVERING your purpose.

Too many people waste too many years of their life waiting for their big purpose to finally show up.

Yet most people find their true passion and purpose in life the very moment they choose to bless someone else’s life in some way.

Want to know your purpose here on earth?

I’ll tell you…at its core everyone’s highest purpose is the same – your purpose is to serve others in some meaningful way.

Sure, you’ll find the specific ways which YOU and only you can uniquely do that…

…but meanwhile, just choose some goal to bless others in the best way you can think of right now.

That is the crazy-simple, foolproof method for ‘finding your purpose’ fast.

Just choose one!

You get to decide.

William James said, “The great use of life is to spend it for something that will outlast it.”

There is no magic answer here…just ask, “What can I do with my time that bless others so my actions outlast my own life?”

Every act of service to others outlasts you by the way…that person will be forever affected.

So just think of one big worthy goal that excites you to think about.

Great, now that’s your purpose.

Start moving that forward.

You are not stuck with that purpose forever more.

You can keep refining, enlarging, and enhancing that purpose.

You don’t need some grand vision to have purpose.

And now that you are clear on a worthy goal…what’s the VERY NEXT STEP?

That’s your priority.

Martin Luther said, “Even if I knew that tomorrow the world would go to pieces, I would still plant my apple tree.”

Why would he do that? Because he understood the value of living on purpose today.

He surely understood that “True happiness involves the full use of one’s power and talents,” as John W. Gardner stated.

So he surely didn’t wait around for a special invitation from his heart to start putting his talents to use creating, blessing, and serving.

And you don’t have to wait for anything either.
