Smile – Day 16 – Like it or not, your predominant thoughts are your future plans

Here’s a quick reminder for you about the importance of taking small, simple actions each day to create the habits of a truly amazing life:

“First we make our habits, then our habits make us”  – John Dryden, British Poet (1631-1700)

The reality is, when we establish positive habits, those habits go on to create amazing results in our lives.

The work you are doing today is like planting a flower garden of perennials that bloom year after year.

You must do the work to get the flowers planted.

But then…simply watering the ground allows you to enjoy their beauty for years to come.

And these habits we are working on together will open up options and cause things to happen in your future that will stun, surprise and amaze you.

So be diligent in your simple daily actions, because your habits will make life truly amazing for you.

Today I want to share another reason why it’s so important to appreciate in feeling and in writing:

If you are predominantly thinking about the things that you desire, your life experience reflects those things.  And, in the same way, if you are predominantly thinking about what you do not want, your life experiences reflects those things.”  – Esther and Jerry Hicks, (Ask, and it is given)

If we are predominantly expressing gratitude our experience in life will tend to reflect back to us more things to be grateful for.

I’m sure you’ve heard of the law of attraction.

Well, that law is one of the major reasons why the HABIT of appreciation is so powerful…

…it puts attracting positivity into auto-pilot in your life.

By making appreciation your default thought pattern, you don’t have to struggle to be happy and live the truly amazing life you were born for.

You just do it automatically and happiness and joy come your way naturally with little effort.

Sometimes we get knocked off track even with positive habits, and it takes effort to get back on.

But in general, these habits make your amazing things happen for you.

Esther and Jerry Hicks also said this, which is incredibly important to understand and remember:

Whatever you are thinking about is like planning a future event.  When you are appreciating, you are planning.  When you are worrying, you are planning.  (Worrying is using your imagination to create something you do not want.)”

“Every thought, every idea, every Being, every thing, is vibrational, so when you focus your attention on something, even for a short period of time, the vibration of your being begins to reflect the vibration of that which you are giving your attention to.”

“The more you think about it, the more you vibrate like it;  the more you vibrate like it, the more of that which is like it is attracted to you.”

“And once you understand that you get what you think about, and equally important, when you are aware of what you are thinking, then you are in the position to exercise absolute control of your own experience.”  – Esther and Jerry Hicks (Ask and it is Given)

So…what are you thinking about throughout the day?

Are you aware of it?

Do you ever feel bad?

That is a clear signal to you that you are not thinking thoughts of gratitude.

Because in a state of gratitude you will feel good.

Your feelings are your indicators that show you what you are thinking.

Our thoughts become so second nature to us that often we are unaware of them…like a fish in the lake…the fish doesn’t tend to notice the water all around it.

Same with our thoughts…we tend to be so immersed in them that we aren’t aware of them, they just feel like part of us.

But thoughts are things, and just because they are floating around in our minds, doesn’t mean they are all true.

When we become AWARE of them, we can direct them to what we want, and then create a beautiful life experience.

The practice of writing down what you are grateful for daily can bring you into awareness of your thoughts.

It will be hard to do some days…sometimes the practice will expose negative thoughts or feelings.

But when you make the effort to write, and direct your attention to appreciating things, you will begin feeling better…

and you will see that you are in control of your life experience.

And that is one of the most empowering realizations you can have.

Take control today.  Write your feelings of gratitude before your head hits the pillow.

Get specific, elaborate on how you feel and why that thing makes you feel that way.

And Make Today Amazing!
