Enjoy – Day 19 – Why is moving your body important to YOU?

How’s it going?

Are you loving yourself?  Are you enjoying moving each day?

Are you treating yourself kindly?  Giving yourself small expectations and keeping them?

Good job, keep it up.

If you have found yourself struggling to make or keep a commitment to daily movement don’t beat yourself up.

It’s OK, take time to write and ponder on why it may be a struggle for you.

Write about what it means to you, why you do and why you don’t want to do it, and what you think is holding you back.

Then with this self-awareness allow yourself to make a commitment to yourself based on your own personal WHY.

Same thing if you ARE moving daily, but perhaps not enjoying it, or are struggling a bit with it.

It can be very valuable to check in with yourself in writing…it tends to force clarity.

But regardless of how things have gone this month…don’t worry or regret…

today you are here, you are alive, you have power to choose your next steps, and that’s all that matters.

Just move forward from here.

There is learning and advantage to find in all your circumstances.

“But it can be so hard!” I hear some saying…

“If it weren’t for the fact that the TV set and the refrigerator are so far apart, some of us wouldn’t get any exercise at all.”  – Joey Adams

Can you relate to that at all?  I hope not actually 😉

It really does come back to this…why do you move for YOU??

This can’t be, ‘because Aaron thinks it’s a good idea and he keeps talking about it so it must be important.’

I mean really, are you deeply connected to why YOU want to move daily for you?

Or is daily movement still not a priority?

If not, you can’t force this.  But WHAT IS YOUR PRIORITY? And why?

That is super important to acknowledge.

If you’re struggling, making hollow commitments to exercise that are not being kept, it’s really important to take some time to write about this.

Get to know yourself then make a commitment to yourself.

I believe this will help you.

And please reach out with your struggles to me and the rest of the TAL Mastermind.

There is support available…we want to help.

Here’s what the legendary fitness guru Jack LaLanne had to say on one reason why he exercised.

“I do it as a therapy. I do it as something to keep me alive. We all need a little discipline. Exercise is my discipline.”

“Exercise is the catalyst. That’s what makes everything happen: your digestion, your elimination, your sex life, your skin, hair, everything about you depends on circulation. And how do you increase circulation? Exercise”  – Jack LaLanne (1914-2011, 97 yr. old fitness guru)

Exercise really is critical.

Just like Dr. Hyman taught us ‘you can’t exercise your way out of a bad diet’…well the opposite is also true:  You cannot eat so healthy that you no longer need exercise.

Your muscles will atrophy.

You will lack energy.

Your circulation, skin, hair, digestion, and everything else will be impaired from functioning fully if you are not also moving your body regularly.

“A strong body makes the mind strong.  If the body is feeble, the mind will not be strong.”  – Thomas Jefferson

Have you noticed that when the body is sick, weak, or diseased it becomes exponentially more difficult to focus, create, or think positively?

I sure have.

Movement is so critical to your daily happiness, but it’s also critical to accomplishing all your goals.

If you’re unhealthy and sluggish with no energy, you greatly limit your capacity for greatness.

Moving is so important!

But make sure you’re crystal clear on WHY IT IS IMPORTANT FOR YOU!

Start with why – it makes a huge difference.
