How to feel back in control of your life

Ever feel like you’re a victim to your circumstances?

Like no matter how hard you try you life just doesn’t seem to work out how you want it to?

If so, you’re not alone. I think everyone feels that at some point.

The question is, what can we do about that feeling?

As long as we feel like a victim to people or things around us, our peace, happiness, and progress will be limited and fleeting.

But there is a fundamental mindset shift we can make that removes us from that negative feeling state.

Interestingly, people like Victor Frankl have shown us that even if we are an actual victim of unjust circumstances (he certainly was, having survived the holocaust), we can actually live in a state of inner peace and freedom despite anything that happens to us.

But it’s only possible if we take control of the way we habitually think.

When we are able to deeply believe that not only are we not a victim to our circumstances, but that actually everything is conspiring for our benefit, everything changes.

Then we are able to move through challenges with greater ease.

Then we are able to be at peace despite things not working out perfectly according to our plans.

Then we are infused with energy and enthusiasm for life instead of feeling beaten down and hopeless and tired.

All because of a simple change inside our mind.

But of course it’s not always as simple as just deciding to change one time and we’re all set. Most of us have habitual ‘victim type’ thinking patterns we may not even be conscious of, and they make it hard for us to truly believe that everything is conspiring for our benefit. (Conspiring defined is: work together toward a common goal)

I wrote the 30-day transformational program Affirm Your Truth to help with this.

It’s a guide to developing the habit of a ‘non-victim’ set of beliefs. And it works really, really well. Hundreds of people have had major breakthroughs with it. Here’s the most recent example from just a few weeks ago:

===

“These past 30 days have been truly amazing!

My whole prospective on life has changed. Going through the past 30 days has enlightened me in so many ways and every day I am learning more about the power that I have within. I have had people tell me, my energy feels different, in a good way!

I know the past 30 days I have changed as a person and I know I am going to keep up my transformation.

-Nancy V.”

===

It’s impossible to deeply believe that everything is conspiring for your benefit and also feel like a victim simultaneously.

The two beliefs are incompatible.

That’s why Nancy’s whole perspective and situation in life changed so dramatically.

And the feeling states of those two beliefs are incompatible also.

Feeling like a victim feels horrible. Feeling like everything is working together for your good feels awesome.

And the cool thing is we can shift states way faster than we may think possible. It can even happen in an instant (but doesn’t always).

If you’ve gone through my program Affirm Your Truth before and now you find yourself feeling down and feeling like a victim to your circumstances again, I encourage you to go back through the program.

If you haven’t been through it, you can get the book and 30-day program here.

Inside the book is a link you can click to get the daily messages in the book sent straight to your email – which is the best way to go through the book currently.

I mentioned before “The Moon app” I’m developing that is going to massively improve the future delivery of my 30-day habit trainings. I’m super excited about sharing that with you too, but that won’t be ready for another 2-3 months.

So for now I recommend going through the email program if you’re struggling at all.

And one more thing…

I was interviewed for specifically on this topic of overcoming the victim mindset recently. The interview will be released soon in an online interview series summit I’m a part of.

It’s called “Choose Freedom and Joy: A woman’s guide to happiness, success, and being in the flow of life.”

I encourage you to jump into the free interview series and listen in when my interview comes up. I talk in depth about my own personal painful story of being tested to the max on overcoming the victim mindset.

There will also be a bunch of other really great interviews with over the next few weeks with some inspiring teachers and speakers.

Well, that’s it for now, hope you are well!

Make today amazing 🙂

~Aaron

P.S. The “Choose Freedom and Joy” summit I’m speaking on actually started yesterday, but my interview isn’t coming up for a couple weeks. Click Here to get access to the free interview series.

P.P.S – That interview series is geared more toward women, but obviously the topic of my interview, ‘overcoming victim mindset’, is highly applicable to everyone.

I TOO, NOT UNLIKE ON OTHER, ALREADY I FORGOT HER NAME, WHICH HAS OFTEN BEEN MY HABIT TO OVERCOME, WAS LAYING IN BED EVERY DAY, AFRAID OF MY OWN ILLNESS COMING BACK TO ATTACK ME, BASICALLY. I WAS SLEEPING ON AND OFF ALL DAY. NOW I WANT TO GIVE TO OTHERS BECAUSE I HAVE THIS IMMENSE CAPABILITY TO HAVE CARE AND CONCERN FOR OTHERS, ONLY NOW TO INCLUDE MYSELF IN THIS THEORY TOO. I HAVE BEEN MISSING ME THIS WHOLE TIME, FOR MY WHOLE LIFE. SURE, I COULD TELL WHEN SOMETHING WAS WRONG, I WOULD TAKE A GOOD LOOK AT MYSELF AND BE ABLE TO SAY; OK THIS IS JUST NOT RIGHT. ALTHOUGH I HAVE HAD SOME PAIN IN MY RIGHT EYE AND SOME UNEXPLAINED TIGHTNESS IN MY CHEST AT TIMES, I AM GOING TO GO TO THE DOCTORS. I HAVE HAD A ROUGH LIFE TO SAY THE LEAST. IF PEOPLE KNEW WHAT I ACTUALLY CAN GO THROUGH WITHOUT MODERN DAY MEDICATIONS THEY WOULD, AND I HAVE BEEN CALLED WACKY, BUT REALLY IM NOT. IM JUST AN INDIVIDUAL WHO HAS BEEN TOLD BY AN ATTORNEY THAT I NEED TO TREAT IT AS ONE WHO SUFFERS SOMETHING LIKE DIABETES, JUST TAKE THE MEDICATION. BUT IT RAN DEEPER THAN THAT FOR ME. NOT ONLY WAS I CAUSED TO HAVE, I LEARNED THIS YEAR AND AM NOT ASHAMED TO ADMIT, I WAS BEATEN AS A CHILD BY BOTH MY MOTHER AND BROTHER. AT ONE POINT, AT THE TENDER AGE OF FOUR YEARS OLD, I WAS MADE, BY MOTHER AND DOCTOR TO BE HEARING IMPAIRED. SOUND INCREDIBLY INSANE? THATS EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED TO ME. I USE TO RUN AWAY FROM HOME SINCE THE AGE OF 14. I WAS A COCKTAIL WAITRESS AT THE TENDER AGE OF 16, FIRST PAID JOB AT 14, NOT TO FORGET THAT I WORKED ALONGSIDE MY MOTHER AS I SAW HER FALLING APART AFTER MY FATHER LEFT WHEN I WAS ONLY ABOUT 8 YEARS OLD. I WENT TO SCHOOL HOMELESS WORKING THIRD SHIFT. I HAD DRIVE AND I WAS STRONG, BUT THE LACK LOVE FROM THE HOME I RAN FROM LEFT ITS MARK FOR THE WHOLE OF MY 55 YEARS, I JUST TURNED 55 A FEW DAYS AGO. I AM NOW LEARNING TO REMEMBER MYSELF SO I DONT MISS OUT, BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY TO LOVE MYSELF. HEY, IM WORTHY.
